Summer, movie theaters, & gluten-free candies’ options.

Many candies are now labeled if they’re gluten-free.  We have choices!

It’s summer… the heat is on outside, and you’re headed inside for somewhere cool to be entertained a few hours.  For some reason, the movie theaters aren’t loaded with fruits, veggies, and grilled protein.  They’re loaded with lots of s – u – g – a – r.  Let’s chat about gluten-free movie theater candy.

Before you guess-timate at the concession counter on what may or may not be safe for you to eat, first know your choices and enjoy a pain-free outing.  The theater is stocked full of gluten-free options! 

M & M ‘s ~ gluten-free and a movie theater favorite.

M&M’s are likely sold at every movie theater, and are gluten-free (all varieties except the pretzel flavored & holiday kinds).  A win-win option.

Always check labels.  Many ‘holiday-themed candies are not gluten-free.

Who doesn’t love pay day?  Or eating a PayDay?

Every candy shown in this blog (above) is gluten-free, and many, many more abound.  So, for those who opt out of buying popcorn, and turn down the glutenous pretzels, pizza, and fried chicken nuggets, now you can at least be informed of your options next time you’re asked by the cute movie concessionist “What can I get for you today?”

I want tropical iced tea, and a chicken panini sandwich.  Just sayin’.

For the rest of you with discipline, eating your salad before the movie, and going out for sushi after, I applaud you.
