Where can someone find one of Arizona’s first citrus farms, with pomelo and cocktail citrus trees still growing on the property? A place that’s relaxing, vintage, vibrant, and comfortable, with delicious foods for a gluten-free lifestyle? Pomelo at The Orchard, in the ‘heart of Phoenix’s North Central neighborhood’, that’s where.
Pomelo is open daily for lunch, dinner, and a brunch menu is added Saturday and Sunday. Seating is available inside the vintage 1920s Southwestern Territorial house, or outside on the relaxing patio. Pomelo serves fresh, homegrown ingredients in each dish. Look at the colors!
Pomelo’s BLACT Sandwich is a ‘wood-fired chicken breast, crisp bacon, tomato, wild arugula, mayo and guacamole on toasted house garlic focaccia bread’… this was a friend’s lunch on a glutenous bun, however it’s available lettuce wrapped for the rest of us ;o). Thanks, Pomelo, for adding the GF next to gluten-free items on your menu. It makes it so much easier to order!
Pomelo Chopped is a delicious salad of ‘kale, artisan greens, tomato, corn, edamame, roasted peppers, raisins, sunflower seeds, and feta tossed in green goddess’. Pictured here with added wood-fired chicken, delic! Also available with added salmon (above main photo), or seared ahi tuna. Check with your server for an updated list of gluten-free dressing options.
Once you’ve finished your relaxing meal at Pomelo, take a stroll inside Luci’s Healthy Marketplace for some gifts, cosmetics, coffee, etc., or more food! (They offer gluten-free bread for their sandwiches, I’m told.)
Looking for something sweet? Try a scoop of fantastic gelato next door at Splurge Ice Cream & Candy Shop, serving creative flavors like:
