Yellow Vase serves up a delicious gluten-free chicken panini and side salad

Voila, Yellow Vase!  Yellow Vase Bakery, Cafe & Flowers is found in four south beach California cities including:  Palos Verdes Estates, Rancho Palos Verdes, Redondo Beach, and Rolling Hills Estates.  It’s not just a cafe with delicious gluten-free options, “it is a full service, high-end florist and retail shop that has posh gifts and unparalleled floral creativity.”

Our gorgeous California coastline is awesome to drive.  Finding fresh, gluten-free lunch options can often require detective work, that is, unless you have friends that happen to know the area and eat healthy, too.  Et voila – I found myself at Yellow Vase in beautiful Rancho Palos Verdes, CA one afternoon for a girls ‘catch up lunch’ at this adorable cafe.

It’s a sight to take in, beautifully decorated in yellow with French-themed gifts and goodies (colorful macaroons!) within the sizeable cafe.  Sitting indoors allows for shade from the sun, while still enjoying the beautiful sea breeze flowing through the large, open windows.  A few outdoor tables are left for the sun-people… did I mention I’m heat intolerant? ;o)  Besides, look at the precious decorations and pretty flowers we enjoyed, and still could see the ocean outside and a slight hint of Catalina Island.

Step up to the counter to place your order – be aware of decadent goodies nearby!

With so many options to choose from, I’ll need to return to try others!  Decadent pastries line the counters in baskets (including gluten-free chocolate bread!), ice cream temptations nudge your hips, and of course, aromatic French coffee fills the air by the time you are standing at the order counter.

Today’s choice was a tasty Chicken Panini on gluten-free bread, including:

• grilled chicken breast
• sun-dried tomatoes
• artichoke hearts
• fontina cheese
• pesto
• house spread
• side salad

The flourless chocolate cake grabbed me!

Bien sur – I enjoyed every bite of their flourless chocolate cake!  I shared a few forkfuls, and we all declared it was a truly, savory dessert choice.

Bravo, Yellow Vase!  Well done.
